It was raining…a lot.
Harriet*, a disabled senior, was watching more and more rain leak into her small trailer and onto her furniture and possessions while a January storm continued its deluge in Oregon.
With no family nearby and on a limited income, she wasn’t sure what she was going to do. She began making phone calls and someone suggested she call Help Now!
One of our advocates received her phone call and listened with compassion. After several minutes, it became clear that this was an urgent need as Harriet was in danger of having permanent damage not only to her possessions, but to her trailer as well.
Our advocate made phone calls and was able to get one of our community partners to go to Harriet’s trailer and complete the repairs she needed within 2 hours of receiving her call…all during a rainstorm in January.
